Lenze c300 - OPC UA Connection to FactoryStudio

Hello,

I am currently working on connecting my Lenze c300 PLC to FactoryStudio and need assistance with connecting to the OPC UA Server in my PLC.

Steps I have taken so far:

  • Created ‘Test’ Project inside the Lenze PLC Designer
  • Created a Symbol Configuration in the Lenze PLC Designer to allow the tags to be accessed via OPC
  • Created a ‘Test’ Project inside FactoryStudio
  • Went to the Devices and Interfaces - 9.2 - Tatsoft LLC
  • Followed the directions to connect the device:
    • Created a new channel:
      • OPCUA - OPC UA Client
    • Created a new node:
      • Entered the Service URL and clicked “Test” and I get the following message:
      • 'Failed: Could not find file C:\Program Files (x86)\Tatsoft\FactoryStudio\fs-9.1\TManager.Exe.Ua.Config.Xml

I am not sure where I went wrong with the connecting the device. I have successfully connected my PLC to Ignition using their OPC UA Client Connection so I know the PLC connection is possible.

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi @aott33,

This error appears when the certificates were not created correctly. Because when we work with OPC UA, you need to create certificates for the same FactoryStudio modules.

You can find below the documentation explain how you can create the certificates, after creating them, check if the Test button works.
